Open Positions at PNNL

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is looking to fill three positions related to visualization and visual analytics. If you are interested, see their jobs website for more information and to apply. All positions require the ability to obtain a future security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. They’re all located in Richland, Washington.

Chief Scientist, Information Analytics

Seeking nationally recognized scientist to develop vision for and direct major cross-disciplinary research and development programs in information analytics, to include a combination of visualization science, cognitive and perceptual science, interaction science, and mathematics; Generate future research directions and develop strategies for advancing information analytics research agendas; Lead creation of next generation information analytics technologies. Requires advanced degree, strong track record of R&D leadership and advancing the state of science, and publication record. (Job ID # 300111)

Visualization Science Researcher

Seeking mid-level scientist to develop new visual analysis technologies and interaction techniques to enable discovery of insights from complex data. Lead teams of researchers and software engineers responsible for creating and evaluating new visual metaphors appropriate to exploratory data analysis and discovery in highly complex environments. Will be expected to lead applied research projects and interdisciplinary teams of people, interact with clients, prepare research proposals, help generate future research directions, author publications and presentations, and mentor other staff members. Visualization Software Developer

Seeking software developer to create next generation visual information analysis software programs and develop software algorithms in support of visual analytics research and development. Contributions will include requirements analysis, conceptual and physical systems design, and implementing designs into products ranging from proof of concept prototypes to production-grade software applications. Requires experience in Java application development with emphasis on user interface development. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. (Job ID # 300018)
