VisWeb Workshop: brief summary
The Visualization on the Web workshop was quite a success. Despite it being Sunday and before any "real" part of VisWeek started, there were around 100 people. The discussion went from writing about visualization, academic blogging, etc., to questions of how to do visualization on the web, providing access to public data, etc.
Some questions that came up don't only apply to the web: open sourcing of research code, for example, or interoperability between (vastly) different modules written by different people.
There were good discussions, and many of the points need to be pursued further. I will write a longer report in a week or two, summarizing the different questions and what we talked about.
